Dr. Marinela Nemetz is originally from Texas and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1996. Following dental school, she completed a two year residency at the University of Texas in Houston and Herman Hospital, where she received her certificate in pediatric dentistry. In addition to her training, she is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Nemetz is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and a member of the Jacksonville Dental Society. As a strong advocate for early dental care, she has developed an educational program for local preschools and elementary schools. She and her staff regularly visit schools with their mascot “Freddy Flossisaurous” teaching children how to take care of their teeth and that visiting the dentist can be fun!
Dr. Nemetz moved to Jacksonville in 2001 and lives in Julington Creek, with her husband, Bob and their two children, Joseph and Danielle. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and being involved in community activities.
Dr. Nemetz received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1987, after which he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 1991.
Dr. Nemetz continued his training in dentistry for 5 more years, specializing twice. First, he specialized in Prosthodontics at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NewYork and at the State University of New York at Buffalo. His second specialty is in Periodontics from the University of Texas – Houston where he also completed his Master of Science Degree on Oral Biology.
Dr. Nemetz’s clinical emphasis includes all aspects of restorative and cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridgework, removable prosthetics (dentures and partials), both non-surgical and surgical periodontics, oral medicine, periodontal plastic surgery, bone augmentation procedures, implantology, TMJ therapy and oral sedation.His approach is conservative, utilizing the most current technology in a modern office with patient comfort being paramount to his patients dental experience.
Dr. Nemetz is active with the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Nemetz entered private practice in Mandarin in 2004. In his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
